David Gilford

Vice President, New York City Economic Development Corporation

David is Vice President of the New York City Economic Development Corporation, the City’s primary vehicle for promoting economic growth, and a Director of the Center for Economic Transformation. David leads clean technology, energy and resiliency initiatives, building programs that translate NYC's sustainability goals into growth opportunities. Partnering with the private sector, his group also helps stimulate demand for cleantech products and services through open data competitions, demonstration projects and reducing red tape.

Prior to NYCEDC, David held finance and sales positions at General Electric, as well as worked for McKinsey & Company and the Federal Reserve. David is a member of the NYC Building Resiliency Task force and serves on advisory boards for the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, the Carbon War Room and New York Energy Week.  David holds a BA in Economics from Williams College and an MBA from the Yale School of Management.
