Daniel Abbasi oversees policy for MissionPoint Capital Partners, including its integration with the firm's investment process.
He also originates and structures energy and environmental finance transactions. MissionPoint is an investment firm that is exclusively
focused on financing the transition to a low-carbon economy. Daniel is a former Associate Dean at Yale University's Environment School,
where he convened high-level meetings on climate change and authored: "Americans and Climate Change: Closing the Gap Between Science and Action."
He has served in strategy, M&A and senior operating roles for subsidiaries of the Washington Post Company and Time Warner. After serving as an
environmental staffer for the Clinton/Gore '92 campaign, Daniel was appointed to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in the first Clinton
term, serving as a Senior Adviser in the Office of Policy, during which he co-chaired Strategy for the U.S. Environmental Technology Initiative,
and helped produce the first U.S. Climate Change Action Plan. Daniel was a key developer of the U.S. environmental technology export strategy as
the EPA Administrator's representative to the Secretary of Commerce's Trade Promotion Committee. Previously, while on staff at the World Resources
Institute, he performed on-site advisory and consulting work on cost accounting for environmental costs and risks at Fortune 500 companies. Daniel
earned a BA, magna cum laude, from Harvard College, an MA in Political Science from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Joshua Klainberg, joined the League of Conservation Voters as a volunteer in the fall of 1995 and was hired as Political Director in
January 1886. In 2005, he ws assigned the additional role of Deputy Director. Prior to joining the League, he worked on several political
campaigns in the Town of North Hempstead. Immediately following college, he served in the inaugural class of President Clinton's Americorps
National Civilian Community Corps, where he worked on environmental, educational and other public service projects. Mr. Klainberg holds a
BA in Urban Environmental Studies from Brandeis University and a Masters in Urban Planning from the Robert F. Wagner School of Public
Service at
New York University.
Dr. Michael Levi is the senior fellow for energy and the environment at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). His interests center on the
intersection of science, technology, and foreign policy. He is director of the CFR program on energy security and climate change and project
director for the CFR-sponsored Independent Task Force on climate change. Dr. Levi also teaches at Columbia University's SIPA. Dr. Levi was a
science fellow in foreign policy studies at the Brookings Institution. Dr. Levi has testified before Congress and to present expert scientific
evidence to the National Academy of Sciences. Dr. Levi holds a PhD from the University of London (King's College). He holds an MA in physics
from Princeton University.
John Neffinger has a decade of experience preparing speakers and speeches for public audiences and media appearances, working with
progressive politicians at the national and local level, corporate and academic leaders. John and his partners recently worked with Harvard
economists on research that shows how critical politicians' non-verbal communication is to their electoral success. John has served as communications
director for the national security and science faculty at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, and previously worked on international education
issues with former National Economic Advisor Gene Sperling. He holds honors degrees from Harvard College and Columbia Law School.
