The Sustainability Practice Network (SPN) is a NYC-based forum and list server for professionals, academics and students working with corporate responsibility and sustainability issues to build a community based on learning, discussion, information and idea exchange. The leading barrier to sustainability is
market failure. When proper prices are
not attached to shared natural resources,
these can be treated as free inputs for
production or unrestrained consumption-a
classic case of tragedy of the commons.

access to water, the effects can be felt on
